Rallarvegsløpet is a 2-day race that will be arranged for the 17th time on the 20th and 21st of July 2019. The epic run follows narrow roads in beautiful scenery from the fiords of Western Norway up through a steep valley to the open and wild mountains.
The first leg, on Saturday, is 54 km long and starts at sea level in Flåm with finish 1222 m above sea level at Finse. The second leg, on Sunday, is both shorter and easier. It starts at Finse and finishes at Haugastøl 998 m above sea level.
To reach the finish day one before darkness, the participants should be able to run a marathon in about four and a half hour. The race is self-supplied, but it is possible to make a depot at 20 kilometers.
For those who wants a shorter alternative, there will also be a separate one-day race from Finse to Haugastøl. The distance is the same as the second leg - 27 km - of the two-day-race.
The number of participants will be limited to 100 runners. You may register for the race here.
The runners stay at Hotel Finse 1222 from Friday 19th of July till Sunday 21st of July. To go to Finse and further to the start it is necessary to travel by train. Flåmsbana, the railway line down to Flåm is described as one of the most spectacular in the world.
Each participant books tickets and rooms by themselves. Ask for the "special prize for participants in Rallarvegsløpet" at the hotel.
If you want to enter the race or have any questions send an e-mail to race leader Runar Gilberg. He may also be reached at phone +47 48 25 84 96.
Welcome to a great running experience in the Norwegian mountains!
